Le mois de mars était relativement calme, mais on voyait que des choses se préparaient. Une amie qui avait de bonnes relations avec le pouvoir et le FPR, et d'autres, mettaient leurs proches à l'abri à l'étranger...Au CND le FPR refusait que le CDR (parti extrémiste hutu) fasse partie des partenaires alors que ce dernier avait mis de l'eau dans son vin en acceptant de se contenter de sièges au parlement, et non au gouvernement. Le FPR créaient de nouvelles zones de défense avec zèle. Un chef du FPR me demanda d'intervenir auprès de l'officer Mbow pour qu'il laisse passer les armes, a l'encontre des accords...Il ne fallait pas les vexer. Ce qui n'était pas le cas avec les Forces gouvernementales...
A cette époque nous avons eu des renseignements sur une invasion massive de troupes d'Ouganda pour soutenir le FPR...(doc)
Cela fit que des officiers des RGF (Rwandan Governemental) n'avaient pas confiance en nous: "dans la mesure où ils étaient en possession de preuves que la partie adverse ne respectait pas du tout les règles et qu'ils s'attendaient à ce qu'une offensive soit lancée par leurs ennemis du FPR." p 17
J'avais aménagé dans le village d'Unrugwiro, pas loin du siège des Nations Unies.
C'était dans un complexe gardé par la GN (Garde présidentielle). Mais jusqu' à la nuit du 6 avril , il n'y avait aucun signe que l'attaque contre l'avion présidentiel était sur le point d'être menée et que cela déclencherait ce que nous savons tous".

Rwanda : un ancien officier sous les verrous

La police rwandaise a annoncé vendredi que le capitaine à la retraite David Kabuye a été arrêté à Kigali pour "incitation au soulèvement".

Un porte-parole a déclaré que M. Kabuye a ete arrêté mercredi soir.

Sur son compte Twitter, la police a indiqué que "le capitaine David Kabuye fait l'objet d'une enquête pour incitation au soulèvement ou à des troubles de la population et diffamation publique".

Il venait d'être libéré de prison après avoir purgé une peine de six mois de prison pour détention illégale d'arme à feu.

Our political organisation, FDU - National Movement - INKUBIRI has followed with concern the political trial of genocide survivors, namely the Rwandan musician artist Kizito Mihigo, the journalist Cassien Ntamuhanga, Jean Paul Dukuzumuremyi and student Agnes Niyibizi. On 27 February 2015, the Kigali High Court found three of them guilty of forming a criminal group and conspiracy to murder President Paul Kagame or other dignitaries. They were handed sentences of 10, 25 and 30 years in prison.

This kangaroo trial was initiated after the artist, a genocide survivor, revealed a very artistic and popular music-video entitled "Igisobanuro cy'urupfu", which translates "the meaning of death", advocating the non discrimination of our dead and the memory of victims of both genocide against Tutsi and crimes against humanity against Hutu. This song irritated deniers of crimes against humanity committed against Hutu population by some leaders of the ruling RPF.

The hefty sentences came in a spree of suspicious deaths of people in Rwanda: the mystery of dead bodies from Rwanda found floating in the Rweru lake in 2014  is still calling for investigations; Dr. Emmanuel Gasakure, from the University medical hospital and former personal doctor for President Paul Kagame was executed by a policeman in police custody on 25 February 2015; the prominent businessman Assinapol Rwigara lost his life in a suspicious tragic road accident on 05 February 2015, etc.

These extra-judicial killings and sentences that are obviously politically motivated are unacceptable and must be condemned in the strongest terms.

FDU - National Movement - INKUBIRI expresses its keen sympathy for all political prisoners in Rwanda, for the families and victims of politically motivated assassinations and for all those suffering from the iron fist of the  current dictatorship.
