[haguruka.com] Rwanda2017: Election or Revolution?

Burkinabe Protesting

As citizens of Rwanda with a presidential election approaching you have a wonderful opportunity to ponder whether to participate in this election or to participate in the ongoing Rwandan Revolution.

Your first revolution might have overthrown the authority of the Tutsi monarchy and aristocracy, unfortunately this is History repeating itself,  the revolution  in progress must remove once again the Tutsi elites whose authoritarian rule is far worse than that of their ancestors but disguises itself as a modern republic. It must also remove neo-colonialists who work hand in hand with the Tutsi elites. This is by no means a call to any ethnic violence but a call to overthrow a crooked  government. Even if what we have in Rwanda was a Hutu government committing the same abuses against innocent populace I would speak up against it.

The real value of this second revolution which moves along steadily, is that it could give Rwandans a peaceful society free of terror, murder, bullying and gangsterism by so called authorities, a society where one can go about his/her business without government interference. It might result in a form of social organization that distributes wealth equitably with life-enhancing projects such as poverty alleviation, affordable housing, free education and free healthcare. Everyone, Hutu, Tutsi or Twa deserve a decent life in his homeland.

Now, you might ask, 'How are we, the ordinary citizens of Rwanda going to take on the Rwandan military and police to remove the elites with no weapons? The answer is that you do not need even one weapon for this ongoing revolution and, in fact, you are vastly better off without them. Weapons have only one use – to kill people – and any revolution worth the name has a more profoundly ambitious aim than this.

What you need is intelligence, commitment, courage and a sound nonviolent strategy.  You must consciously and systematically participate in the ongoing nonviolent revolution that is already taking place and give it added life by your presence. YOU MUST ACTIVELY WORK FOR THE CROOKED AND ABUSING GOVERNMENT BUT YOU MUST SECRETLY WORK HARD TO UNDERMINE IT. Where there is a will there is a way. If you wake up, if you open your eyes, you will find many ways you can work against the tyrannical government in Kigali. And you can definitely find others you can trust and together you can form grassroots movements. ESPECIALLY YOUTH IN COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES, YOU ARE THE FUTURE, I URGE YOU TO PLAY AN ACTIVE ROLE IN SHAPING THE FUTURE OF YOUR COUNTRY.

Another demographic I am calling upon and urging to wake up and seek change, is the "UNEMPLOYED YOUTH",  is it fair that you have no means to support yourselves with no hope for the future while the elites make money hand over fist?

YOU MUST SECRETLY ORGANIZE. Agents of the crooked regime are smart, but you can outsmart them with commitment and a strong desire for change and for a better Rwanda. The diaspora has woken up, we need people in Rwanda to have some balls to challenge the crooked authorities. Be smart as a snake though, in all you do be extra extra extra cautious!

Profound change only occurs from the 'bottom up' when enough ordinary people take the initiative to remake their own society.
