FDU-Inkingi's Chairperson, Mrs Victoire INGABIRE UMUHOZA, unfairly sentenced to 15 years
PRESS RELEASE
Today, as the whole world celebrates the legacy and mourns the passing away of one of the greatest African revolutionaries of the last century , the South African icon Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, Rwanda's kangaroo Supreme Court has just sentenced our Chairperson Mrs Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza to fifteen years in prison, aggravating her early 8-year- sentence on appeal.
Our movement has never doubted that her trial was nothing but a disgusting farce, right from the beginning. Unfortunately, we were not surprised by that shocking and unjust outcome from the highest jurisdiction of the land.
Although Rwandans were not expecting anything less than a confirmation of the filthy charges brought against her by the prosecution, through that ruling, the Front supremacist and militarist Tutsi clique that reigns upon the country since July 1994 has confirmed that it was determined to continue to tear apart the Rwandan social fabric.
It has sent to Rwandans, the region, Africa and the World a loud and unequivocal message that it's not interested in any way in opening the political space by peaceful means and has demonstrated if need be, that indeed « democracy and human rights  standards don't apply  here (in Rwanda) » as General Paul Kagame said during an event dubbed « Youth Connekt Dialogue » held in Kigali last June 30, 2013.
This sentence comes during a campaign named « Ndi Umunyarwanda »  (I'm Rwandan) whose new label is aimed at concealing its real objective, that of reducing the majority of the Rwandan people to the status of outcasts in their own country since every Hutu including those born after 1994 is expected to apologize for the 1994 genocide that was committed in their name by Hutu extremists.
The only crime Mrs Ingabire Umuhoza stands accused of, is that she demands justice for all the victims of crimes against humanity, war crimes and other gross violations of international humanitarian law committed against Hutu citizens, not only in Rwanda, but also in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Like Deo Mushayidi, Bernard Ntaganda and Sylvain Sibomana, she is paying the highest price so that our people can enjoy equal rights and equal opportunities in a non ethnic, peaceful, democratic and prosperous Rwanda.
We express our most heartfelt sympathy and firm solidarity to our Chairperson Mrs Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza and her family and reiterate our unconditional support until she recovers her rights and freedom.
FDU-Inkingi calls upon all Rwandans to unite, stand up and rise up against ethnic exclusion, political oppression and economic exploitation by the ruling supremacist Tutsi clique led by Paul Kagame until all the power goes back to the people.
FDU-Inkingi urges all interested stakeholders, especially the United States of America, the United Kingdom and the European Union to use their respective leverage to ensure that General Paul Kagame's licence to imprison or kill ceases.
